Overview of the process

The general process of moving your lightlink.com email goes like this:

  1. Set up your new mailbox as a new account on your devices, to run alongside your current Lightlink mailbox for the time being.
  2. Send a few emails to us from your new mailbox to make sure it is working.
  3. At first, any mail sent to you @lightlink.com will still arrive in your "old" lightlink.com mailbox. But that's OK. We can test your ability to receive mail in your new mail box by sending mail to an alias: your_lightlink_username@virtualithaca.com. So if your lightlink.com address is "jimmy@lightlink.com", you can test your new mailbox by sending an email to "jimmy@virtualithaca.com
  4. Once you've successfully sent and received email at your new mailbox, we will start forwarding all of your lightlink mail to the new box immediately. That way, when Lightlink shuts down at the end of August, 2023, you'll already be set and won't notice the change!

Billing & Payment

Your new account will be managed by Cyrus Company, LLC. Click here for an overview of how billing will work.

A few extra tips:

  • If you are sure you've set everything up correctly, but still can't connect, try rebooting your apps and even your devices. Sometimes that's all it takes.
  • If you make a big mess of the setup, you can delete the new account you were trying to add, restart, and start over.
